Welcome to Blount Beginnings' Empowering Women's Housing Program, a groundbreaking initiative aimed at providing homeless women in Augusta with the tools, support, and resources they need to transition from homelessness to self-sufficiency. Our mission at Blount Beginnings is to offer a helping hand to those in need, guiding them towards a brighter future. With this new program, we are excited to introduce an innovative approach that has never been seen before in our city.

Our Mission and Approach 

Blount Beginnings is committed to addressing homelessness by offering comprehensive support and housing solutions. Our Empowering Women's Housing Program is designed to empower homeless women with the skills and resources necessary to regain their independence. Through a combination of safe housing, support services, and tailored employment opportunities, we aim to create lasting positive change in the lives of the women we serve.

Program Eligibilty

This program is tailored to women who meet specific eligibility criteria:

  • Homelessness: Participants must currently be experiencing homelessness.

  • Work History: Applicants should have a history of employment.

  • Independence: Women must demonstrate the ability to live and work independently.

  • Driver's License: Possession of a driver's license or the ability to obtain one is required.

  • Employment Commitment: Participants should be capable of working 40 hours per week through our employment partnership.

Program Eligibilty

Our Empowering Women's Housing Program offers a range of benefits to selected participants:

  • Safe Housing: Participants will receive comfortable accommodations in partnership with local apartments.

  • Employment Opportunities: We collaborate with reputable employers to provide meaningful work opportunities.

  • Transportation: Participants will share a provided car to commute to their workplaces.

  • Financial Support: Monthly stipends will cover rent, utilities, and meals.

  • Support Services: Our program connects participants with community resources for mental health and personal development.

  • Skill Building: Participants will engage in financial literacy workshops, learning to save, budget, and improve credit.

  • Path to Entrepreneurship: Interested individuals can explore entrepreneurship as private contractors through our employment partner.
